Sabatia Technical and Vocational College (SBTVC) marked a significant milestone on 5th June 2026 by holding its inaugural Graduation Ceremony at the College Graduation Square. The colorful event brought together government officials, KATTI Principals, industry partners, members of the Board of Governors, parents, staff, alumni, and the local community to celebrate the achievements of graduands who completed their training in various technical and vocational programmes.
The ceremony was graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria, who served as the Chief Guest. In her address, she commended the college for its remarkable growth and commitment to providing quality, industry-responsive training that equips trainees with practical skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship competencies required in the modern workplace.
Speaking during the event, the College Principal and Secretary to the Board of Governors, Ms Grace A. Titi, described the graduation as a historic achievement that reflected the dedication and hard work of the Board of Governors, management, staff, trainees, parents, development partners, and stakeholders who have supported the institution since its establishment. She noted that the college has experienced tremendous growth in enrolment, infrastructure development, programme diversification, and industry partnerships, positioning it as a leading TVET institution in the region.
The graduation ceremony celebrated graduates from Diploma, Craft, Artisan, and modular training programmes across the college's seven academic departments. The graduands were recognized for their resilience, discipline, and commitment to skills development, having completed competency-based training designed to prepare them for employment, self-employment, and further education.
The event also highlighted the college's outstanding achievements in skills competitions, innovation, environmental sustainability, and digital skills development. Sabatia TVC has continued to distinguish itself through impressive performances at regional and national TVET fairs, where trainees have earned recognition in skills competitions and innovation exhibitions. The institution has also made significant strides in promoting green skills, dual training, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and digital opportunities through the Jitume Digital Hub.
Parents and guardians expressed gratitude to the college for nurturing their sons and daughters into competent professionals ready to contribute to national development. Industry partners commended the institution for producing graduates equipped with practical competencies and workplace-ready skills that meet the needs of industry.
As the college celebrated its first graduation, graduates were encouraged to embrace innovation, lifelong learning, integrity, and entrepreneurship as they transitioned into the world of work. They were reminded that the skills and values acquired at Sabatia TVC would serve as a foundation for personal success and meaningful contribution to society.
