Sabatia Technical and Vocational College recently hosted a Kazi Majuu recruitment exercise to connect skilled graduates and trainees with international employment opportunities. The recruitment activity was facilitated by the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SDTVET) as part of the Government's efforts to promote youth employment and global labour mobility.
The exercise brought together accredited recruiters and prospective candidates from Sabatia TVC and neighbouring institutions, providing a platform for skilled graduates to explore employment opportunities in various sectors abroad. The recruitment focused on occupations that are in high demand in international labour markets, including hospitality, construction, engineering, caregiving, manufacturing, and other technical fields.
Speaking during the event, college management commended the State Department for TVET for creating pathways that enable graduates to access decent work opportunities beyond Kenya's borders. The initiative was hailed as a significant step towards addressing youth unemployment while showcasing the quality of skills training offered in Kenyan TVET institutions.
The recruitment was done to graduates in Electrical linesmen, and the recruiters conducted candidate sensitisation sessions, document verification, career guidance, and preliminary interviews, equipping participants with valuable information on overseas employment requirements, work ethics, and career expectations. Trainees were encouraged to take advantage of such opportunities while upholding professionalism, integrity, and the technical competencies acquired during their training.
The Kazi Majuu programme continues to provide a transformative platform for TVET graduates by linking skills development with international labour market demands. Through strategic partnerships between the Government, TVET institutions, and recruitment agencies, graduates are increasingly gaining access to rewarding career opportunities that contribute to personal growth, family livelihoods, and national economic development.
Sabatia TVC remains committed to strengthening industry and labour market linkages to ensure that trainees acquire relevant competencies and are successfully transitioned into employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning opportunities.
The College extends its appreciation to the State Department for TVET, participating recruiters, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the recruitment exercise. We wish all candidates success as they pursue their career aspirations through the Kazi Majuu programme.
