Sabatia Technical and Vocational College has achieved a remarkable milestone after emerging as the best-performing Technical and Vocational College (TVC) in Kenya and securing Position 5 nationally among all TVET institutions in the latest Performance Evaluation conducted by the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
This outstanding achievement reflects the institution's unwavering commitment to excellence, quality training, innovation, accountability, and service delivery. The ranking places Sabatia TVC at the forefront of technical and vocational education in Kenya, affirming its status as a Centre of excellence in skills development.
The performance evaluation assessed institutions across various key performance indicators, including governance and leadership, training quality, competency-based education and training (CBET) implementation, enrolment growth, innovation, industry linkages, infrastructure development, financial management, research, and service delivery.
Speaking on the achievement, the Principal and Secretary to the Board of Governors, Ms. Grace A. Titi, expressed gratitude to the Board of Governors, management team, staff, trainees, and stakeholders whose dedication and collective effort contributed to the institution's success.
"This recognition is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and teamwork demonstrated by every member of the Sabatia TVC family. It reflects our shared vision of providing quality, accessible, and industry-responsive technical and vocational education that empowers our trainees and transforms lives," she said.
Over the years, Sabatia TVC has recorded significant growth in enrolment, programme diversification, infrastructure development, digital learning, dual training implementation, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and green skills initiatives. The institution has also distinguished itself through outstanding performance in national skills competitions, innovation exhibitions, Drama, and community engagement programmes.
The college's strong partnerships with industry have enhanced practical training opportunities for trainees, ensuring that graduates acquire relevant competencies that meet labour market demands. Through initiatives such as the Dual Training Programme and the Jitume Digital Hub, trainees continue to gain valuable workplace experience and digital skills that improve their employability and entrepreneurial potential.
The achievement further demonstrates the effectiveness of the college's strategic focus on quality assurance, continuous improvement, innovation, and stakeholder collaboration. It also reinforces Sabatia TVC's commitment to supporting the Government's agenda of producing a skilled workforce capable of driving Kenya's socio-economic transformation.
